How should I eat?

“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise, but not body fat.”
-Greg Glassman, founder of CrossFit.
One of the first and most common questions we are asked at Thames CrossFit is, how should I eat to reach my fitness goals? Whether your goal is to lose weight, gain muscle mass, improve your performance, or just look good in a bathing suit, our recommendation always starts with the Paleo Diet. What you eat is critical in determining how you’ll look, feel, and perform. We have put together a whole page full of resources dedicated to the Paleo Diet. It includes a great background of what the Paleo diet is and why it is important, links to additional technical information that will help you understand the science behind it, and a handy step by step guide on how to get you started today!
WOD:
A:
Back squat
5 reps x 60% of your one rep max
5 reps x 70% of your one rep max
As many reps as possible x 80% of your one rep max
B:
For 20 minutes:
Run 400 meters
Rest precisely the time of the previous run

Today is friday, and that means I’ve got an awesome WOD ahead with my 6pm crew, the mobility workshop is tomorrow and no more rubbishy work for 2 whole days! Joy of a thousand joys!
Also two of my wishes came true within the last 24 hours, last night I got Kipping Pull-ups locked down (only 5, but a lot better than zero!) and the TCF fairies have granted my wish of lunchtime sessions starting in August! Hoorah!
Have a good friday and a great weekend if I don’t see you fellow Crossfitters!
SO YOU THINK YOU ARE LEAVING TH 6 PM CREW BRO ? , NOT COOL V BEAR NOT COOL
But very cool on the Pull ups , very cool V bear
Awesome job on the pull-ups yesterday, Mark! Love the daily dedication, all your hard work has paid off! See if you can knock off 15 today to check off the Craftsman level.
Lunchtime WODs starting August? That sounds awesome!
And well done on the pull-ups Mark – mind you it was getting a bit embarrassing watching you still flap about on rubber bands!
sissy
Sorry is BATENBERG CAKE Paleo ?????????
too many syllables, paleolithic man couldn’t have pronounced it.
Nice work on the kipping Mark
Kipping Mark – maybe that should be his new name…
Markip
NEW TOPIC : Inov-8 F-Lite 230 Yami and the two Chris’s wear there are they good for Crossfit , they look coooooool but how do they perform ?
Mark – Congrats. My lifetime total is now 3 so I’m chasing you!!
Inov-8 – I’m loving mine. First, the weight….you don’t feel them. Second, running….I have none of the aches/pains I typically get when running in running shoes (oh, by the way, you’re gonna love Today’s WOD….shout out to the morning crew who graciously allowed me to join them this morning). Knees are fine, ankles are fine, back is fine. Not bad for weightlifint either. I highly recommend them.
One finaly point…there is one important difference between my Inov-8s and Jami’s…..
…I make them look GOOD!
NOW THATS AND ADVERT . COOL I AM ORDERING MY ONES
I’m not leaving the 6pm crew C-Bear, this just means I can train on days when I normally wouldn’t be able to get to TCF! BOOM!
Thanks for props Jay, C-Bear, Greer and Griff, and long distance thanks to Jane! How’s it going out there in France? I hear that you’re dishing out 3 WODs daily to the locals, is it true???
P.S I’m so glad Battenburg is Paleo (contrary to syllables and common belief
)
P.P.S Inov-8′s are for lady-men, wooden clogs are where it’s at for training!
OK SO I WILL DO MY WODS IN A SKIRT AND MY INVO-8 NEEEEEEEEEEER
It’s a busy day on the comment board, I need to get me some action!
Awesome work on the pull-ups Mark! That means you have no excuse for not doing Jackie and Eva as rx’d!
I may have to join the supe blue trainer crew, although the old school pumps have been serving me well they are getting battered! Where can these invo-8′a be ordered from???
Max comments for time! See you guys at the Jami mobil-a-thon-a-palooza!
Boom! Griff, Pirate Bear and John are on paleo beers. Hmmmm active recovery and hydration!
Did 10 kipping PU today, double yesterday, 15 tomorrow!!! Me, griff and John are kipping on scaffolding whilst doing shots, this can only end in tears…
SONIC FRACKING BOOM! Seriously – well done all tonight, the effort on the runs was supreme.
I don’t know why griff is doing serious posts when he’s obviously quite drunk…
boom
First of all: Mr Chris (yes, you with the inov-8s) there’s soooo going to be pain coming your way next week.
Keep on kipping boys,
Those flashy Blue shoes are available from: http://www.inov-8.com/
And yes, they’re worth every penny (you get 10 more pull ups automatically). I need to get some more soon.
See you either tomorrow or next week guys!
Whoop whoop!
Ah – back at home and have just been given one of those trion:z ion bracelet thingies. Even more awesomeness awaits. Goodnight Thames CrossFit!
